Warning: Graphic dolphin image
One early morning Shawn Heinrichs was walking along a beach in a remote fishing village in South East Asia and came across this scene. He realized they are even hunting dolphins in some parts of Asia. It is estimated that 100,000 whales, dolphins and porpoises are killed each year (Animal Welfare Institute) and this number is only expected to increase as the global demand for seafood increases. Sometimes these whales, dolphins and porpoises are for eating but often are killed by nets, hooks and harpoons as a by-product of trying to catch other fish.
